Update 12/12/2009

Mason is doing great...his personality has really come out.  When we ask him if he needs to go out he pounces on the ground and sometimes does this little whirly-dance...it's too funny.  ... he's 105 pounds, and I even think he's gotten just a little taller.  It's been FREEZING cold and we got a good amount of snow.  He loves it, we run and play...and he cannot stop eating it, he thinks that's way too fun.

Update 10/1/2009

He's learned so much!  He walks on the leash like a champ, heels great.  He knows sit and down.  He also has learned to stand and stay where he is when I tell him to "wait."  He's eating a lot better, slowly gaining weight - almost to 100 lbs. now.  He's a super traveler and is great with my horse, Dino (who loves dogs).  He's extremely chilled out, just a huge cuddle bug and he'd rather be in bed or on the couch than anywhere else - complete couch potato.  The crate is gone and he's got the run of the first floor with Shanie during the night and when we're out - we totally trust him.  He's never made a mess in the house - no potty, no chewing, and he's only barked a handful of times.  Follows me everywhere and is very polite.  There isn't a better boy out there!  He's truly a golden one :) and I could NOT be happier with him.  Although, like our female ...attention piggy doesn't begin to cover it.  Belly rubs are a FAVORITE!!

He has what has come to be his look...we call it his "gaze."  It's hilarious and everyone who has seen it just cracks up - I'll send you a picture of it.  I hope all is well with you and your doggies!  He is part of this family quicker than I could have ever imagined...and my dad is happy having another man in the house.  Since Mason's head is so big, he's also earned the nickname, "Noggin."  Another name is "Big Lazy" or "Baby Lazy" because he falls asleep in an instant and it takes something resembling Armageddon to get him up, haha.  We just love him.  Shanie is also accepting him quite nicely, they coexist wonderfully and they don't pester each other at all really...they just lay together, and on each other :).  I'm sending pictures!!

Thanks for collecting Mason from his despair so I could take home a wonderful, WONDERFUL dog!

Thank you so much for today and making it possible!  Mason (Gibbs) is getting along wonderfully with Shanie!!  I'm sending some pictures of them. So far so good here in Chicago and I hope it just keeps getting better!  Thanks so much for today and I will definitely keep you updated!

Adopted 8/2009

Mason was met at the dog park by the Rizzos and Shaina - their 6yr old female Leo.   When it was time to go, both dogs jumped into the car and slept the whole 5 hour trip home. there has been no problems with the two dogs, and Mason has made himself right at home.  He has gone for a walk already, and even gone to Petsmart!!!  He gets worried when someone leaves the room for awhile, and cannot figure out were they are going if they go upstairs, but is ok when they come back.

Now happily living in Palatine, IL

Gibbs is a year and a half old, well socialized, loves walks, loves kids and loves to play with other dogs. Gibbs did not get much attention in his first home and he does not know what treats or toys are, he makes up his own games chasing squirrels. He is learning 'sit', 'stay', 'leave it' and not to pull on a leash.
